Itumeleng Bokaba talks to us about her journey to stardom

by Bongiwe Tshiqi

Also known as Tukstah360, most of us know Itumeleng Bokaba as an adorable YoTV presenter who grew up to be an actress on Rhythm City. Today, she is an aspiring singer and businesswoman. She chats to us about her journey.

1.Many people do not know that I am a singer, songwriter and producer who goes by the name Tukstah360.

I am an actress because acting comes easy to me, but music is my first love. Music is a bit difficult because I am still learning the ropes, and that is why I haven’t released anything yet.

2. I opened my company, One Autumn Media, because I wanted to direct my own creative process.

I am not comfortable with just finding a record deal. I want to do things my own way and according to my rules and times. As a business person, I am able to choose artists I want to work with and the type of music I want to do. I am using my company to drive my vision.

3.I love running my own business, but it is expensive.

I did not go to business school, but I trust that my love for the business and music will withstand all the mistakes I might make.

4. My music is available on my SoundCloud page, Tukstah360.

My sound is pop with a hint of hip hop, with an African flavour. I’m currently in the studio making some music, which I plan on releasing soon. I’m compiling an EP with different sounds, and I am confident it will be warmly received.

5. I can’t wait to release my music.

My EP will change the game and people will be pleasantly surprised. I am coming through with a fresh sound that will make people want more. So, watch this space.

Have a listen to Tukstah360’s music here.
