The much anticipated MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) have come and gone. We bring you the good, the bad and funny moments at the event.
Boity and Cassper arrived together
After many questions of “are they together’ or “are they not”, Boity and Cassper finally revealed that they are dating. Boity even gave Cassper a kiss after he was announced as the winner for Best Hip Hop.
Boity shading AKA
Speaking of Boity, something weird happened while she was presenting for the Best Collaboration category. Here’s what went down: Boity was presenting and she said “You know my man always wins awards.” Though Cassper wasn’t nominated in this category, her comments seemed shady. To make things even more awkward, AKA won. Boity didn’t even acknowledge him when he collected his award. Boity took the “your enemy is my enemy” thing too far.
Bonang and D’banj
It seems like the MAMAs were the best way for celebrities to show off who they are dating. Bonang and D’Banj also arrived together, looking really good. They also kissed when D’Banj was on stage to get his award.
Best international act category and Young Thug missing
We don’t really know what happened with the Best International Act because it wasn’t announced. The category had stars like Chris Brown, Big Sean, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna. Nobody was announced as the winner. Also, didn’t MTV promise us that Young Thug would be performing? We missed him too.
Tbo Touch’s head wrap
We won’t say much about this. But we will admit that we can’t wait to listen to the TouchDown on Metro FM this afternoon, just to hear if Mr Touch will address the memes.
