Relaxed Hair Care

by Keletso Modisakeng

Celebs, including Bonang, Gail Mabalane and Lerato Kganyago, know how to rock relaxed hair. Relaxed hair is an old school trend that helps straighten and soften the hair, making it easier to style. But sadly, people are still doing it incorrectly.

Schwarzkopf SMOOTH ‘N SHINE shares a few pointers to help you master relaxed hair.

DOs and DON’Ts:

  • DO relax your hair every six weeks.
  • DON’T relax over processed hair. Wait for re-growth.
  • Always go for a treatment every two weeks.
  • DO keep your relaxed hair moisturised and nourished to help strengthen it and prevent breakage.
  • For those with thin or weak hair, DO get a protein hair treatment – it will repair and rebuild your hair.
  • DO base your scalp at least twice or three times a week with hair food.
  • Always take care of your hair when wearing braids or a weave. Apply hair food to your scalp regularly.
