Award Winning Hair From SAG Awards

by Keletso Modisakeng

The annual Screen Actors Guild Awards took place last night and we took focus to the ladies and their crowns.

Laverne Cox

Laverne showed up looking like a Greek goddess with her golden hair. The actress had a brown with blonde ombre braided crown. This hairstyle was best for the red carpet and will best suit you at a formal event and wedding.

Lupita Nyong’o

Our favourite actress may have missed the awards for acting but she definitely won the hair award from us. Lupita has become one of the go-to faces for styling short hair. She changed it from the dimensional haircuts to cornrows. Cornrows with a bun are elegant and low maintenance.

Sufe Bradshaw

The hairstyle fail award for the night goes to actress Sufe. The high cut fringe we see on runway models is one that should never be tried at home. Beyoncé failed with this trend and Sufe should not have taken it to the awards.

Uzo Aduba

Congratulations to Orange is the New Black actress Uzo on collecting awards last night. We love the simplicity and elegance of her hair. The side parting is great for a person with a heart shaped face as it moves focus on the large forehead.

Vicky Jeudy

Vicky went old school with a middle parting low ponytail. A middle parting is great because it helps soften the forehead and strong jaw line. Vicky played it safe – we think she should have added more flair and character to her hairstyle.
