Created by visionary producer Vincent Okonkwo under VSL Media, the major cross-border franchise continues to push the boundaries of African storytelling by uniting top-tier talent from Nigeria and South Africa, setting the stage for a dramatic streaming event coming to Netflix on November 6.

Unpacking the gripping foundations of Season 1

To truly appreciate the high stakes of the upcoming sequel, it is essential to revisit the gripping narrative established when Season 1 debuted on Netflix. Part 1 immersed viewers in a dark, atmospheric underbelly where grief, militant tension, and ancestral blood oaths collided.

The story centred on the intense dynamic between military officer Dagogo (played by Gideon Okeke) and his younger brother Celestine (played by Zubby Michael), whose sudden disappearance unravelled a two-decade-old vengeance plot.

Anchored by stellar performances, including legendary screen icon Sola Sobowale as the estranged mother Stella, the first season captured audiences with its high-octane action sequences, exploration of occult-backed syndicates, and deep family betrayals, earning critical acclaim and major industry recognition.

A powerhouse Pan-African ensemble and crew

Building upon the cinematic blueprint laid by Season 1, which featured striking cinematography by South Africa’s Peter Moloto, Part 2 elevates the cross-continental collaboration to unprecedented heights.

Season 2 is directed by acclaimed South African filmmaker King Shaft (Menelik Father), bridging West and South African creative forces behind the lens.
