Described by creative curator PR$DNT HONEY as “the ‘it’ girl: effortlessly cool, never chasing attention, but somehow always getting it,” Cape Town sets the perfect backdrop for a city-wide celebration of architecture, fashion, craft, and contemporary design.
Running across galleries, studios, hotels, and public spaces, the four-day festival brings together workshops, talks, installations, and tours under the theme The Shape of Us.
Here are the key activations and highlights to add to your itinerary this week.
Art × Fashion × Design at BlackBrick Gardens
A major centrepiece of the Cape Town edition is Art × Fashion × Design, a compelling two-week installation hosted at BlackBrick Gardens in Gardens. Co-curated by Maropeng Maphala and Christina Fortune, the exhibition brings together a Pan-African exchange led by female creativity:
- Nwabisa Ntlokwana: The South African artist presents carved sculptural forms rooted in natural wood and organic materials.
- Vida Madighi-Oghu: Showcasing intricate ceramic forms that revive Nsibidi ideograms through contemporary mark-making.

- Hanardy Iddriss (SeeMee Studio): Featuring handwoven garments inspired by Northern Ghanaian Fugu traditions, alongside Walepogo photographic imagery expanded onto dramatic fabric banners hanging through BlackBrick’s six-storey atrium.
Location: BlackBrick Gardens, 2 Roodehek Street, Gardens
Opening launch: Thursday, 22 October 2026 (19:00–21:00 CAT)
Access: Free and open to the public throughout Design Week 2026
Cameron Platter’s ‘Interior Design’ at A4 Arts Foundation
Over at District Six, the A4 Arts Foundation presents a trio of installations exploring printed matter as a site for artistic production. The central presentation, Interior Design by Cameron Platter, anchors the space alongside Annual General Report (reimagining a corporate report as a high-gloss magazine) and a bookmaking project under A4’s Sightlines program.
- Zine Launch & Tapestries: On Saturday, 24 October, A4 launches a new zine titled My Work Here Is Done, tracing Platter’s collaborative work with the weavers of the ELC Art and Craft Centre at Rorke’s Drift—with selected tapestries on display.
- Makhundai Pop-Up: Guided by the ethos “be a good farmer,” fashion label Makhundai will also stage a clothing pop-up on site.
Location: A4 Arts Foundation, 23 Buitenkant Street, District Six
Hours: Thursday & Friday 10:00–17:30 | Saturday 10:00–14:00
Access: Free and open to all
