Ngiyaz’fela snippet before the music video

Mawelele announced the drop on his Instagram yesterday, 15 October 2026, using a snippet from the music video. The video showcases Mawelele and Kwesta driving a taxi to the love interest’s house, while wearing clothing reminiscent of the hard-working South African man.

The snippet shows the direction the music video is taking, highlighting the nostalgic 90s era of Black love in the townships among young, working-class South Africans.

More about the song

The Afropop song has a soft, melodic beat with impactful lyrics of love and devotion. Mawelele speaks to his love interest about introducing her to his family and declaring how much he loves her.

Kwesta then offers a beautiful rap verse, listing all the reasons he loves the girl and how much she means to him. The song carries a wonderful vibe for the summer.

The collaboration between the two artists is so masterful that they had to do it again. Ngiyaz’fela is their second collaboration after All My Life, which was released in 2024.

With a similar warm, soft sound, the song carries the same message of devotion and commitment.

Fans look forward to the music video

Online users looked forward to the music video dropping, with the same energy complementing the graphics in the teaser video. One commenter pointed out how well the music video is aligned with the message of the song.

“Yhooo, the music video shows the details of the song; I can see that Mawelele is acting Kwesta’s verse. Yhooo, can’t wait to watch it,” Asemahle wrote.
