Homba Mazaleni is celebrating another major milestone in her journey to becoming the next Top Billing presenter, after securing a spot in the competition’s Top 10.

The Eastern Cape content creator and biokineticist has been turning heads since entering the 2026 Top Billing Presenter Search, which attracted thousands of entries from aspiring presenters across South Africa.
Homba first captured attention with her polished audition video, which showcased her presenting skills, storytelling ability and confidence in front of the camera. Her audition also received public support from media personality Pearl Modiadie, who backed her for the presenting opportunity, reported IOL.
Her progress continued when she was named among the Top 40 contestants announced in August. She was one of several recognisable names competing for the opportunity to join the revived lifestyle show’s presenting line-up.
Now, after making it through another round, Homba has celebrated reaching the Top 10, expressing her gratitude for the opportunity and the journey so far.
‘I’m so grateful’
Taking to social media, Homba reflected on the significance of making it this far in the competition.
Her latest milestone comes after months of putting herself forward for the opportunity and allowing viewers to follow her journey.
The presenter search has included different stages designed to assess contestants’ presenting abilities, confidence, creativity and ability to connect with audiences.
For Homba, reaching the Top 10 represents another step towards her television presenting aspirations.

From viral audition to Top 10
Homba’s Top Billing journey began with an audition that quickly gained attention online.
Her 89-second audition video featured cinematic visuals, travel scenes and a walk-and-talk presentation style. The response to the video helped introduce her to a wider audience, with viewers commenting on her delivery and on-screen presence.
Homba is also no stranger to the spotlight. She previously competed in Miss South Africa 2023, where she finished in the Top 5.
Her journey from pageantry and content creation to the Top Billing Presenter Search has now taken her into the competition’s final stretch.

A chance to join the Top Billing family
The 2026 search follows the return of Top Billing to SABC3 after a seven-year hiatus. The revived show features familiar presenters alongside new talent, with the presenter search offering aspiring television personalities a chance to become part of the show’s next chapter.
With Homba now among the Top 10, attention will turn to the next stages of the competition and the eventual selection of the new presenter.
For now, Homba is celebrating the milestone and the support she has received throughout her journey.
