Shamiso Mosaka distances herself from ‘Podcast and Chill’s’ distasteful remarks

TV personality Shamiso Mosaka and musician Londi London shared their views on the distasteful joke made by Sol Phenduka and MacG in last week’s episode of Podcast and Chill with MacG.

The two women expressed that they didn’t find a ‘joke’ funny in the most recent episode of the podcast Read the Room.

Shamiso Mosaka distances herself from the views of ‘Podcast and Chill’

The remarks in question were made by podcast co-hosts Sol Phenduka and Mac G, who spoke about the then-missing runner Elizabeth ‘Tsontso’ Moselakgomo. The TV personality firmly expressed that she distanced herself from the views shared.

“I personally would like to distance myself from any insensitive comments that were made by the main show,” she said.

“You are in leadership roles, and sometimes people assume that we all co-sign every single thing that’s said and done,” she explained.

Mosaka acknowledged that the two have apologised; however, she still stands firm in her views, noting that sometimes one can avoid always saying things they need to apologise for.

Londie London questions those involved

Londie added to Shamiso’s point by sharing her critique of how the show’s production team handled these remarks. She ended up questioning everyone involved, asking why that part of the show survived the editing process, or why no one on the team saw anything wrong with what was said.

“Surely the episode goes through editing. Everybody’s sat through that whole thing and didn’t realise that there was something wrong with what they said and with what they did,” she explained, further acknowledging that a lot of people laughed at what was being said.

The musician’s critique goes as far as shutting down the argument that the Podcast and Chill hosts didn’t know at the time the remarks were expressed that Moselakgomo would be found deceased.

“It was someone that didn’t come home to an eight-year-old child,” she iterated.
