The murder case involving slain South African media personality Warrick ‘DJ Warras’ Stock is back before the Johannesburg High Court today, 18 September 2026, with two accused appearing in connection with his killing.

The latest proceedings involve Hlengiwe Buthelezi and Victor Majola, who face charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
Buthelezi, 40, was arrested in Msinga, KwaZulu-Natal, earlier this month after police had been searching for her in connection with the case.
According to the State’s case, Buthelezi allegedly forwarded details of DJ Warras’ vehicle and that of his partner to Majola. Majola is alleged to have played a role in orchestrating the killing. Both accused remain before the courts, and the allegations have not been proven.
Buthelezi briefly appeared in court last week and abandoned her bail application. She is now expected to appear alongside Majola as the matter continues in the High Court.

Another accused has already been sentenced
Meanwhile, Armando Pacula, who was identified as the person who shot DJ Warras, has already been sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty and entering into a plea agreement with the State.
The latest developments mean the case against the remaining accused continues, with the court expected to deal with further proceedings surrounding the alleged roles of Buthelezi and Majola.
DJ Warras’ death sent shockwaves through South Africa’s entertainment and media industries. His killing took place in Johannesburg’s CBD while he was involved in work connected to an alleged hijacked building in the area.
Current updates on the case
There have been further delays in the case, as accused number 2, Majola, still needs to address his legal counsel issues. According to SABC News, the lawyer representing Majola has withdrawn.
On the other hand, SABC News reports that Buthelezi needs time to consult her family on legal representation because she has not seen them since she was arrested. The case has been postponed to 8 October 2026 for both accused to indicate their legal representation preferences.
