Bombe, who is known for her television presenting career and work in agriculture, has increasingly used her public platform to champion issues affecting women. She is also the founder of Farming in Heels, an initiative supporting women in agriculture.
A call for unity
In the emotional letter, Bombe acknowledged organisations such as Women For Change SA for their work in fighting gender-based violence, while arguing that organisations cannot tackle the issue alone.
She appealed to Ngobese-Zuma to use her organisation and platform to help bring South African women together and encourage leaders from different political parties to listen to their concerns.
“Please help us unite South African women against the killing of women,” Bombe wrote, stressing that the issue should not be reduced to political affiliation, race or status.

A wider conversation on GBV
Bombe’s message comes against the backdrop of ongoing national conversations about violence against women in South Africa.
Her letter focuses on collective action rather than political differences, ending with a plea for the country to listen before another woman, sister or daughter becomes a victim.
The post reflects Bombe’s broader public profile as a presenter, farmer and advocate for women’s empowerment. Her career has included presenting on SABC1’s Shift and the agricultural programme Living Land.
