Baby Booth on the way

Mthombeni shared the pregnancy news on social media in an Instagram post featuring a photograph of three pairs of trainers, two adult pairs and a much smaller pair for their expected arrival. The announcement read “Tiny kicks are officially on the way!”

She has also shared glimpses of her growing baby bump, giving followers a look at this new chapter in the couple’s lives. The pregnancy announcement has attracted significant attention, particularly because of the public history surrounding their relationship.

A new chapter for the couple

TimesLive reports that the baby will be the first child that Booth and Mthombeni have together. Both already have two sons from previous relationships, meaning the new arrival will become part of a blended family of five children.

The couple have previously shared moments of their family life, including supporting their children at sporting events and travelling together.

The Booth and Mthombeni relationship first attracted widespread public attention in 2022 following allegations made by Booth’s then-wife, Sonia Booth.

IOL reports that the controversy, which became widely known as the “cheesecake scandal,” generated extensive discussion on social media. Booth and Mthombeni initially disputed the allegations before eventually making their relationship public.

Looking ahead

The pregnancy marks another significant milestone for Booth and Mthombeni as they expand their blended family. While the couple have not publicly announced a due date or revealed further details about the baby, their social media announcement was met with widespread interest from South African audiences.

For the couple, the arrival of their first child together represents a new chapter in a relationship that has evolved considerably since first entering the public spotlight.

As they prepare to welcome their baby, Booth and Mthombeni are now looking ahead to parenthood once again — this time together — and to expanding the family they have been building over the past several years.
