Gagasi FM denies the claims
According to Daily Sun, the KZN-based commercial radio station denied the claims that their content specialist, Ayanda, has been suspended from work after allegedly demanding money from people for interviews. The radio station finds these claims damaging to both their brand and Ayanda’s.
Spokesperson and business development lead at the radio station, Khulekani Shandu, confirmed that Ayanda was not at work; however, he insisted that her absence was a leave of absence and not a suspension.
Shandu expressed that the station is aware of these claims even though it had trouble tracing the source. He does insist that Ayanda is on leave, not providing further information, as there are internal issues on which he cannot speak.

Penny Ntuli has a lot to say
The rumours circulating on social media about Ayanda seemed to have triggered the former Gagasi FM radio presenter Penny Ntuli. Penny parted ways with the radio station in 2024, alleging she was escorted out of the building over a R2,800 salary controversy.
She posted a video on her X account with a text stating that the same “woman who was her boss” who had her escorted out of the building has had the same thing happen to her two years later. Penny’s post, aligned with the timing of the rumours about Ayanda on social media, led social media users to speculate that Penny was referring to Ayanda.
