Amanda Seome speaks on deal breakers

While opening up to the Sowetan about her experience portraying Pretty, she also expressed some of her own philosophies around dating.

Seome shared that loyalty is a very important trait for her, adding that “cheating is a no-no,” along with lies and a lack of communication. The actress mentioned that she wants a partner who can facilitate communication in a relationship, and that if there is no communication, it ultimately affects the essence of the relationship.

What to avoid in relationships

In her experience portraying Pretty, Seome expressed what her character has taught her. The first is not putting your life on hold for a man. She shared that people shouldn’t make excuses for others and should take people for who they are. She also felt people should always choose themselves.

“I don’t even think it’s selfish… it’s choosing you,” she said.

She told the Sowetan that she does not know how to deprive herself of anything with the intention to make someone else help. Seome added that this is the lesson she thinks her character needs to learn.

She goes on to describe her ideal partner as someone who is on a religious journey. She noted that this person must have a relationship with God, be spiritually aligned, respectful, and have a good relationship with his family.
