Have Pitso Mosimane and SAFA come to a decision?
The improved package will align Mosimane’s remuneration with that of former coach Hugo Broos. SAFA has yet to confirm the agreement publicly or disclose the value and length of the proposed contract.
The association’s NEC approved Mosimane as its preferred candidate earlier this month, with president Danny Jordaan saying a few contractual details still required attention before an official announcement.
SoccerBeat adds that Mosimane could name his preliminary Bafana Bafana squad this week ahead of September’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

South Africa host Guinea on 23 September 2026 before travelling to face Eritrea four days later.
Mosimane is set to succeed Broos, who stepped down after guiding Bafana Bafana to the last 32 of the 2026 World Cup.
The appointment would mark Mosimane’s second spell in charge of the national team after his previous tenure from 2010 to 2012. His return follows a decorated club career with Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly, including three CAF Champions League titles.
