From presenter to producer

Minnie has steadily expanded her role from television presenter and actress to producer and entrepreneur through her production company, Beautiful Day Productions.

The company has produced several projects, including Becoming Mrs Jones, Spirit of Mzansi, Goodbye Gogo, No Love Lost and Channel O’s Own The O, according to her entertainment management profile.

Her move into production has also included Club Bangers, a music show for Channel O that she executive produced. The show premiered in April 2025 and marked a full-circle moment for Minnie, who began her television career through Live Amp.

Award success

Minnie’s work in entertainment was also recognised when she received the 2025 Forbes Woman Africa Excellence in Entertainment Award, adding another milestone to her career.

Her achievements have continued into 2026, with Dlamini earning a nomination for Entertainment TV Producer of the Year at the 2026 Basadi in Music Awards for Club Bangers. She is nominated alongside Dibuseng Meloe and Thapelo Mowela.

‘Sometimes I’m the boss’

Minnie has previously offered fans a glimpse into the demands of running a production company.

“Sometimes I’m the boss… Sometimes I’m talent, and sometimes I’m both,” she wrote while reflecting on her role at Beautiful Day Productions. She also described running a production company in South Africa as challenging, while sending support to fellow creatives.

The producer’s comments highlight the different responsibilities that come with balancing her work in front of the camera with the demands of producing content.

More stories behind the scenes

With a growing production portfolio and recognition for her work as a producer, Minnie appears to be increasingly focused on creating content as well as presenting it.

Her production journey has already taken her from reality television to music programming and film, showing the breadth of projects she can take on through Beautiful Day Productions.

The 2026 Basadi nomination further signals that her work behind the scenes is attracting industry attention, with Club Bangers placing her name among this year’s recognised television producers.

For Minnie, the next chapter could mean even more opportunities to develop and produce stories that speak to South African audiences.
