More than just recipes

Unlike a traditional cookbook, Love & Lobola blends more than 80 recipes with personal storytelling and cultural rituals that celebrate modern African relationships. Nontso describes the book as a story of “modern African romance”, using food as a powerful way to preserve memories, honour family customs and create new traditions.

The release marks another milestone for the popular content creator, who first won over South Africans with her approachable home cooking and relatable online food content before publishing her debut cookbook in 2022.

A fresh perspective

As interest in African cuisine and homegrown storytelling continues to grow, Love & Lobola offers readers a fresh perspective by combining contemporary romance with recipes inspired by shared meals and meaningful celebrations. The cookbook is expected to appeal to home cooks, newlyweds, couples and anyone looking to reconnect with African heritage through food.

Beyond practical recipes, the book encourages readers to view the kitchen as a place where relationships are nurtured and family traditions are passed down from one generation to the next.

For fans of Neo Nontso, the cookbook promises a deeply personal journey that reflects the evolving nature of African love stories while celebrating the flavours that bring people together. With its blend of recipes, rituals and heartfelt storytelling, Love & Lobola is shaping up to be one of this year’s most anticipated local cookbook releases.
