“My life changed overnight”

During the interview with Lungelo, Sipho described the period following the allegations as one of the most difficult chapters of his life, saying everything he had worked for began to unravel.

He said he lost acting opportunities, business prospects and income as a result of the public accusations. According to Sipho, the emotional toll was just as severe, affecting his peace of mind and relationships with those closest to him.

The actor shared that he has accumulated significant debt while trying to survive during a period when work opportunities became scarce.

Allegations later withdrawn

The allegations against Sipho were later withdrawn after his former partner publicly retracted her claims and apologised.

While he welcomed the apology, Sipho said during the Engineer Your Life interview that it could not undo the damage caused by the widespread publicity surrounding the accusations.

He explained that rebuilding his reputation has been a slow process, as many people continue to associate him with the allegations despite the retraction.

Looking ahead

Despite the hardships, Sipho said he is focused on moving forward and rebuilding both his career and personal life.

He remains hopeful that producers, industry colleagues and the public will give him another chance as he works to recover financially and emotionally.

The actor also expressed gratitude to those who stood by him throughout the difficult period, saying their support gave him the strength to keep going.

Sipho’s candid conversation with Lungelo has reignited discussions about the lasting consequences public allegations can have on a person’s life and career, even when they are later withdrawn. His story also highlights the importance of allowing due process to take its course before conclusions are drawn.
