The world of Okhambeni is about to get even bigger. As Mzansi Wethu’s hit telenovela Homecoming continues to captivate audiences, Season 2 is introducing a host of new characters set to shake things up in the fictional village.

Here’s a look at the new faces joining the Homecoming family.
Mavuso Simelane joins as the prodigal son, Msizi Dlamini
Actor Mavuso Simelane, known for his role in Love, Law & Betrayal, joins the cast as Msizi Dlamini, a man returning to Okhambeni after years away.
Msizi left the village to pursue a successful career as a geologist, but his return is far from triumphant. Forced back home after his corrupt business dealings catch up with him, he must confront the consequences of his past while trying to rebuild his life.
Speaking about his role, Mavuso said viewers can expect a powerful redemption story.
“Msizi spends the entire season trying to outrun his past. He sacrifices his pride, his reputation and even his relationship, and I’m positive that viewers are going to be glued to their screens just to watch Msizi’s journey.”
Zesuliwe Hadebe steps into the role of MaDlamini
Joining the cast is Zesuliwe Hadebe, known for her appearance on My Brother’s Keeper, who plays Makhosazana “MaDlamini” Dlamini.
As the mother of Msizi and Constable Dlamini (played by Thobeka Shangase), MaDlamini is a resilient woman who has spent decades putting her family first.
After raising her two children alone while working as a domestic worker in Okhambeni, she has become the backbone of her family, ensuring they always had food on the table despite life’s many challenges.
Her arrival is expected to bring emotional depth and explore themes of sacrifice, resilience and family.

Mbali Cele arrives as Nurse Busi Nyembe
Also joining the cast is Mbali Cele, best known for Is’thunzi, who takes on the role of Busi Nyembe.
Busi is introduced as MaNkwanyane’s maternal cousin and works as a nurse at the Okhambeni Clinic. Originally from Newcastle, she arrives with a personality that balances compassion, loyalty and vulnerability.
Describing her character, Mbali said:
“Loyalty, because I fight for my family. Mistakes, because I’m human and I falter. Warmth, being there for everyone around me.”
Her presence is expected to bring new dynamics to both the Kubheka family and the wider Okhambeni community.
