First semester fees covered
In a heartfelt social media post, Nothando revealed that although her fundraising campaign initially aimed to raise R150,000, she has already received significant support.
She shared, “My campaign started with a goal of R150 000… and already, God is moving. Because my mom was a proud member of SAG-AFTRA, my first semester fees are now covered – something I don’t take lightly at all. This journey is bigger than me… It’s legacy, it’s purpose, it’s rebuilding.”

Focus shifts to relocation costs
While celebrating the milestone, Nothando explained that she is still seeking support to cover the remaining expenses associated with starting her studies in the United States.
“Now my focus shifts to what’s next: visa applications, SEVIS fees, books, travel and settling into this new chapter in Los Angeles.”
Grateful for the support
Nothando also expressed her gratitude to Disney Payroll and the SAG-AFTRA Estates Department for helping make her dream a reality.
She also thanked those who contributed to her campaign from the very beginning, describing them as the “first seed planters” who believed in her vision.
Looking ahead
Although one major financial hurdle has been cleared, Nothando says the journey is far from over. She has encouraged supporters to continue sharing and contributing to her campaign as she prepares for the next chapter of her life in Los Angeles.
With tuition for her first semester secured, she remains optimistic that continued support will help her cover the remaining costs and turn her dream into reality.
