Speaking to Daily Sun, the 31-year-old singer from Hammarsdale, outside Durban, recently opened up about the challenges and rewards of working independently.

After parting ways with Inkabi Records, Mduduzi publicly stated the following:

“A great pleasure it has been working at Inkabi Records, but today we chose to part ways. It has been a great journey, and Mduduzi Ncube’s brand has been elevated and established to greater heights.

“I wanna thank Big Zulu for such a huge opportunity and for believing in me, and also for nurturing and building this brand and also his team, but now I have to venture into my own journey and embrace new opportunities. Thank you.”

While his exit from the record label made headlines amid reported financial disputes, Mduduzi has made it clear that his attention is firmly on the future.

New single reflects his ambitions

His upcoming single, Amamitha, which translates to “millions,” represents both his personal journey and professional aspirations.

According to the singer, the track serves as motivation to work harder, remain inspired and achieve financial success through his music.

As part of this new chapter, Mduduzi has also established his own recording studio, giving him greater creative control over his projects. The move marks an important milestone as he continues to grow his brand independently.

Giving back to emerging talent

Since opening his studio, the singer says he has received messages from aspiring musicians hoping to work with him. Although he is currently focused on establishing himself as an independent artist, he plans to mentor and support upcoming talent once his business is fully established.

Mduduzi has also expressed gratitude to his partner, Sinethemba Ngcobo, whose encouragement has helped him remain focused during this transition.

With new music on the horizon and a renewed sense of purpose, the Afro-soul star is determined to write the next chapter of his career on his own terms.
