The musician, whose real name is Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, remains in custody after previous bail applications were unsuccessful. His latest appeal comes as his legal team seeks to convince the court that there are grounds for him to be released pending trial.
What charges is Shebeshxt facing?
The Ambulance hitmaker is facing a string of serious charges.
Court records indicate that he faces multiple counts, including attempted murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH), unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, negligent discharge of a firearm, and malicious property damage.
The charge sheet has reportedly grown to as many as 20 counts, as prosecutors added further charges during the investigation, reported The Citizen.
Shebeshxt was arrested in November 2025 following a series of incidents that allegedly took place over several years. One of the key allegations involves an October 2025 road-rage incident in which he allegedly shot at and injured a motorist. Prosecutors have also linked him to other incidents, including the alleged shooting and wounding of a fan in Ladanna.
These allegations formed part of the State’s argument against granting him bail.

Shebeshxt’s bail battle continues
According to the above-mentioned publication, the rapper’s legal team has argued that factors justifying his release include medical concerns and procedural issues raised during previous bail hearings. However, prosecutors have consistently opposed his release, citing the seriousness of the charges and concerns that he could commit similar offences if granted bail.
Previous courts have found that Shebeshxt failed to demonstrate exceptional circumstances required for bail in a Schedule 6 matter, resulting in multiple unsuccessful applications.
The High Court has yet to deliver a final ruling on the latest appeal. For now, Shebeshxt remains behind bars as the legal process unfolds and supporters await a decision that could determine whether he is released pending trial.
Case remains under judicial consideration
As one of South Africa’s most talked-about musicians, Shebeshxt’s legal troubles continue to attract widespread public attention. The outcome of the appeal will mark another significant development in a case that has dominated headlines and social media discussions for months.
