Africa Picks Group has announced the acquisition of three established digital sports brands as it continues to grow its audience across South Africa and the continent.

The acquisitions strengthen Africa Picks Group’s position as a leading independent sports media business and accelerate its growth strategy across digital publishing, social media, video and audience engagement platforms.

The expanded portfolio now includes:

• AfricaPicks.com – https://www.africapicks.com

While SA Cricket Magazine and Soccer Magazine retain the names and heritage of their iconic print predecessors, both brands operate exclusively as digital media properties focused on delivering news, analysis, opinion and audience engagement across web, social and mobile platforms.

The acquisitions create a sports media network that, in May 2026 alone, generated:

• More than 2.3 million website users

• More than 2.5 million sessions

• Nearly 3 million page views

• More than 162 million social media views

• More than 9 million social media viewers reached

• More than 3.4 million content interactions

• A combined social media audience exceeding 1.6 million followers

SoccerZela joins the network as one of Africa’s most influential football social media communities, generating 147.7 million views, reaching 5 million viewers and producing 3.2 million content interactions during May 2026 alone.

SA Cricket Magazine recorded a breakthrough month in May, attracting 1.29 million users and generating more than 1.65 million page views, while Soccer Magazine experienced substantial audience growth, surpassing 419,000 users and 527,000 page views.

AfricaPicks continued its rapid expansion, attracting almost 600,000 users and generating more than 744,000 page views during the same period.

The acquisitions bring together established editorial brands, high-growth digital publishing platforms and one of the continent’s largest football-focused social media communities under a single network, creating significant opportunities for audience growth, content innovation and commercial partnerships.

The expanded Africa Picks Group will continue to invest in premium sports content, audience development, social media growth, video production and strategic partnerships as it builds one of Africa’s most influential independent sports media businesses.
