Bafana Bafana’s behind-closed-doors friendly against Jamaica has been rescheduled to Saturday, 6 June 2026, at Pachuca’s Hidalgo Stadium after being initially scheduled for 5 June 2026 at 9pm. This allows Bafana Bafana’s head coach, Hugo Broos, to resolve several key issues, which last Friday’s 0-0 draw with Nicaragua exposed.

Broos, having arrived with the team in Mexico earlier this week after a flight delay, spoke to SABC Sport and said, “I am happy with Jamaica; they’re ranked 74th, so it will be a good opponent.
“For us, it will be the last test before that opening game, so again, I am very happy with it. I will not make any declarations. For me, I have something in my head, and I will see if we can use that in our first game against Mexico.”
The boys will look to wrap up their 2026 FIFA World Cup preparations with a morale-boosting victory over Jamaica in an international friendly match that was initially set for Friday but was rescheduled to Saturday, 6 June, due to the squad’s travel delay.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 23:00, South African Time, at the Hidalgo Stadium in Pachuca, Mexico.

Current form
Bafana Bafana head into the match in solid spirits after qualifying for the World Cup – their first appearance since 2010 – and will be eager to build momentum with a strong performance against the Jamaican Reggae Boyz.
Although the South Africa team are winless in their last four matches (two draws and two defeats), they will be desperate to end that streak and fine-tune their squad ahead of their World Cup opener against Mexico on 11 June.
Head-to-head
This will be the sixth meeting between South Africa and Jamaica, and Bafana Bafana have never lost to the Reggae Boyz, holding a record of one win and four draws.
