Ouaddou guided the Buccaneers through an unbeaten month, registering three wins and a draw in four matches.

This decisive finish helped the Pirates end a 14-year league title drought by lifting the Betway Premiership crown, capping off a domestic treble on the final day.

The coach, who hails from Morocco, edged out stiff competition from newly crowned CAF Champions League winner Miguel Cardoso of Mamelodi Sundowns. He also beat out TS Galaxy’s Bernard Parker, who earned praise for steering his side completely clear of the relegation and playoff scrap during the final stretch of the campaign.

In the player category, Sipho Chaine claimed his maiden Betway Premiership Player of the Month award following an extraordinary, record-breaking month between the posts.

The goalkeeper kept four consecutive clean sheets in the month of May, which pushed his total tally to a staggering 21 clean sheets for the season. And in doing so, became the all-time PSL record for the cleanest sheets in a single league campaign.
