South African social media has found another celebrity talking point, and this time, singer Naledi Aphiwe has stepped right into the middle of it.

The rising star has weighed in on the ongoing drama involving DJ and media personality Lamiez Holworthy and a woman many online users have compared to her. Naledi’s comment quickly caught attention after she defended Lamiez and dismissed claims that the lookalike was being bullied.

Naledi adds her voice to the drama

The latest twist came after Naledi Aphiwe reacted to the situation with a direct message: “No one is bullying you.”

Her words added fresh attention to a story that had already been making rounds online, especially after Lamiez publicly addressed the issue herself.

What Lamiez said before

Lamiez had earlier spoken out about the comparisons between herself and content creator Rural Zulu Girl Stylist. She said she had known about the resemblance since 2020 and had initially taken it as flattery.

According to Lamiez, things changed when people who pointed out the similarities were insulted. That is when the matter began drawing stronger public attention and more debate across social media.

No but sisi really hates herself shame because what do you mean she’s made being Lamiez her whole personality but now has the nerve to say she’s being bullied?😭✋🏼 pic.twitter.com/5LwyRyqUQf

Why people are talking

The story has gained traction because it touches on image, identity, and public perception, all of which matter in celebrity culture. In South Africa, where online conversations move quickly and opinions come fast, even a single comment can turn into a full-blown entertainment headline.

Lamiez is known for a recognisable public image, and that is part of why the comparisons have kept resurfacing. Naledi’s decision to speak up has now given the debate a new layer, with fans and followers continuing to share their views online.

Another viral Mzansi moment

As often happens with local celebrity stories, the reaction has unfolded loudly on social media. Some users backed Lamiez and praised Naledi for saying what she felt. Others focused on the growing tension around the lookalike debate itself.

For now, the conversation is still active, and it is clear that Mzansi is not done talking about it just yet.
