As announced by Premier League club Liverpool, Mohamed Salah will leave at the end of the season. The announcement was made on Tuesday.

Salah has been at the club for nine years and has established himself as one of their greatest players.

Liverpool said Salah, who is currently 33, has “reached an agreement” to leave the team a year before his contract was due to expire.

This was also confirmed in a statement released by the club.

The Egyptian players’ 255 goals in 435 appearances put him third on Liverpool’s all-time list, just behind Ian Rush (346) and Roger Hunt, who scored 285.

Mo Salah joined the club coming from Roma in 2017, and has contributed to Liverpool winning eight major titles, including two Premier Leagues and a Champions League.

In a video shared online, Salah said, “Hello everyone. Unfortunately, the day has come. This is the first part of my farewell. I will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.

“I wanted to start by saying that I never imagined how deeply this club, this city, these people would become part of my life. Liverpool is not just a football club. It’s a passion, it’s a history, it’s a spirit. I can’t explain in words to anyone not of this club.”
