The Afrikaans telenovela, Kelders van Geheime has also been canned, and will conclude on August 28, 2026. The drama tells the stories of wheeling and dealings of the community that lives on Soebatskloof (a wine farm in the Cape) and focuses on three families: The Abrahams, Syster, and Marais households. These families have to stand together, agree (or agree to disagree), and work together to earn their bread and butter – and a glass of wine!
The show bows down after it was recently recognised with eight nominations at the 19th South African Film and Television Awards (Saftas).
“Concluding them at their creative peaks, rather than stretching beyond their intended arcs, reflects e.tv’s commitment to quality storytelling and respect for its audiences. Together, these two series have set a benchmark for what South African drama can achieve, and their conclusions open the door for exciting new stories on the channel,” read the e.tv statement.
