Multi-award-winning actress Nelisiwe Sibiya shared how she poured herself into her character on iThonga, despite being ill.

Nelisiwe plays the character of Zamahlobo Ntanzi on the popular Mzansi Magic telenovela. She started by extending her gratitude for the support and love she has received for playing this character.

Zamahlobo Ntanzi is a prominent character on iThonga, a thrilling drama about love, brotherhood, and the unbreakable bond of twins. The telenovela tells the story of Banele and Sanele who are twin brothers, walking two completely different paths, one in the light, the other in the shadows, but their fates are forever linked.

“I am so grateful for your amazing support and feedback. Ngyabonga nje even for being given this opportunity to tell her story. Tshedza Pictures, Mzansi Magic, DStv and everyone involved even for casting me. Ngyabonga (thank you),” she penned.

Taking to her Instagram page, Nelisiwe shared a video clip of her scenes on the telenovela. She said while or after shooting these scenes she was hospitalised for anxiety, depression, panic attack and fatigue.

“I think I went too hard on myself plus I was just going through a lot outside of work, but thank you to the production team they were with me every minute recovering. Oh man Nkanyiso Mchunu, ngiyabonga nja yami (thank you my friend) for always holding my hand! You have no idea the impact you made,” said Nelisiwe.
