Pastor Collen Maluleke, one of South Africa’s leading gospel artists, is celebrating 10 years in gospel music.

For the talented star, this milestone marks a decade since the release of his breakthrough album Open Heavens.

Speaking to BONA, he defined the past decade as a beautiful mix of great and interesting moments.

“When I was starting out in the industry, it wasn’t easy, but God has been faithful every step of the way. I could honestly write a book about my journey so far. I’m grateful to God that I am still standing and continuing in the music ministry”.

He also added that his journey over the years came with many important lessons, including staying true to self, remaining faithful and staying connected to others.

“I am constantly reminded that it is not about me — it is about the bigger picture and about the One who gave me the gift.

I have also learned so much about myself and the sound I want to create. My songwriting has truly grown. I’ve discovered the power of consistency, and the importance of meaningful relationships and partnerships along the way”.

Reflecting on his journey, the musician and songwriter does so from a point of gratitude and awe.

“I never imagined I would be where I am today. What began as a dream is slowly becoming a legacy, and that is one of my greatest blessings,” he shared.

To celebrate this milestone, he will be journeying down memory lane with his supporters at a live recording event titled ‘A Decade of Open Heavens’. The event will take place on Friday, 28 November 2025, at House of Treasures Ministries in Johannesburg South.

“I pray that everyone who attends the recording should come out differently and have an encounter with God and experience his or her open heavens. It’s going to be a night of worship, we are all expecting something from God,” he said.

As he eagerly anticipates the next 10 years of his musical journey, Pastor Collen Maluleke remains expectant and encourages supporters of his music to do the same.

“What God has done in the past 10 years is only a glimpse of what’s ahead. If He did it before, He can surely do it again now, 10 years later. Every promise He has spoken will come to pass. The best is yet to come.”
