Robbie Williams Opens Up About Troubling Vision Side Effects

Robbie Williams, the 51-year-old British pop superstar known for his openness with fans, has issued a stark warning about potential vision problems linked to the weight-loss injections he’s been using.

The singer, who has been taking Mounjaro, revealed that his eyesight has become progressively blurred over recent months, a change he now attributes to the injections.

Despite these concerns, he joked that he might continue taking the injections “until the sight in one eye has completely gone,” highlighting his complex balancing act between physical and mental health.

Recent medical studies have flagged an association between semaglutide—the class of drugs Mounjaro belongs to—and a rare eye condition called non-arteritic anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy (NAION). Patients on semaglutide were shown to have a slightly higher risk of developing NAION, though the overall risk remains low.

Authorities have begun to respond. The European Medicines Agency (EMA) updated its product information to list NAION as a “very rare” side effect, occurring in roughly 1 in 10,000 users. Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) has issued a safety alert, advising anyone experiencing sudden vision loss or rapid deterioration while on semaglutide to seek medical attention immediately.
