King Misuzulu marries Queen Myeni

by Zintle Mdaka

After controversies, drama and court orders, King Misuzulu ka Zwelithini finally tied the knot with Queen Nomzamo Myeni over the weekend.

The newlyweds had a vibrant traditional wedding at KwaKhangelamankengane Royal Palace in Nongoma, KZN on Sunday. The wedding was attended by distinguished guests, including EFF leader Julius Malema and Gauteng premier Panyaza Lesufi, among others.

Queen Nomzamo’s spokesperson, Vuyolwethu Sibiya, said the wedding went ahead despite efforts to stop it. “People have their own agendas.”

The long-awaited wedding was conducted in the Shembe Church tradition in the cattle kraal. The king and Myeni made vows in front of a crowd of about 1,000 people.

“With my truth, I don’t know anything bad about this woman I’m getting married with. I’m getting married to her because of my heart and true love. I will never abandon this woman, even if she can face any challenge, except me as her husband,” the King vowed.

“With my truth I don’t know anything bad about my husband. I will marry him because of my heart and true love. I will not abandon my husband and marry another man while my husband is still alive even if he can face any challenges, I will stay with him forever,” said the Queen in her vows.

Queen Nomzamo is the second wife after Queen Ntokozo kaMayisela.
