Having a small bedroom means being deliberate about storage and space, ensuring you have a place for everything. Being intentional about space means everything is kept in place to create a clutter-free oasis for relaxing, resting, and sleeping. Everyone is privy to all sorts of clever space-saving ideas, and small bedrooms are no exception. These creative hacks will give you ideas on how to fully optimise space.

Build around the bed

When a room is small, wasting space is a luxury you cannot afford. While a large bedroom can accommodate distinct storage zones and multiple freestanding pieces of furniture, small rooms require a more economical layout plan. The bed has to be there in some shape or form. So why not maximise the area around the bed? Built-in storage is usually the best option, as it can be tailored to fit any available space. You can have built-in shelving around the bed, providing ample storage for everything, keeping clutter out of sight.

Use storage walls

Remodel your small bedroom with an entire wall-to-floor custom-built ceiling storage that will utilise every inch of available space. Build a whole storage wall. Where you have built-in cupboards that comprise hanging space, drawers, and a pull-out bedside table for that genius three-in-one solution needed for small bedrooms. The cupboards can have sliding doors or curtains as sensible alternatives.

Extend your headboard

To create the optical illusion of a wider and larger space, custom-fit your headboard to span the length of your small bedroom’s walls. Add art décor or an accent wall to make the illusion work. This way, your room feels bigger just by looking at the headboard. It also helps in minimising visual clutter, creating a calm, small bedroom idea.

Choose the right colour schemes

Neutral colours give a room an airy feel. Colours such as whites, neutral nudes and light greys give you more of a reflection, which creates an illusion that makes the space brighter while looking larger. The right colour schemes make any small bedroom feel bigger.
