Winter season may be coming to an end, but the weather is not as warm as we would like it to be yet. This leads the body to still need the hearty food that keeps it warm for longer.

As much as the sun starts to brighten up again, after many months of rainy and windy days that made us need soups and hot beverages, believe me, you still need to keep warm.

Here are the lunch box ideas that will have your child begging for more, while their peers wished they had the same food. Creativity is of importance in these ideas, as they will make your child want to go to school everyday, to enjoy their meal.

Pasta/noodles:

Leftover pasta dishes may feel like a warm hug in the stomach, are hearty and can be kept warm. Macaroni and cheese, possibly with butternut squash or peas mixed in Pesto pasta with chicken or chickpeas.

Savoury muffins:

You can bake these in a large batch and freeze them for convenience. Options include zucchini, carrot, corn, or spinach with cheese. They can be reheated and be carried as lunch.

Moms can also explore wraps, sandwiches, and pitas, as they can be lifesavers and are easy to prepare.

Roast chicken and avocado wraps:

Fill a wholegrain wrap or pita bread with roast chicken, baby spinach, and hummus for a delicious cold lunch.

Chicken or tuna salad wraps:

With this wrap, you can add a shredded carrot or chopped celery for extra nutrients.
