Lady Du expresses gratitude towards JazziQ emotional support – ‘You carried me through the pain’

by Sergio Miller

South African singer and songwriter, Duduzile Ngwenya, otherwise known by her stage name, Lady Du, has shown fans a different side to the entertainment industry following her heartfelt message to longtime friend, JazziQ.

In a recent Instagram post, the singer found herself filled with gratitude, thanking JazziQ for his support during a dark time in her life.

In April this year, her world nearly collapsed after losing her father, the renowned DJ Choc. The late DJ, whose real name is Mbuyiselo Ngwenya, played an integral role in nurturing the young talent we currently get to enjoy in modern-day music.

He was seen as a pioneer, storyteller, and pillar of the music community.

Following his passing, his daughter Duduzile revealed that both she and her family were in a state of mourning and asked that the public respect this by granting them privacy.

“I’m a mess right now. I won’t be myself for some time, I ask you to understand and respect that. God bless you; I ask that you respect and love your families. We are living in borrowed time.”

With it now being two months since his passing, she has since returned to social media and thanked JazziQ for walking this journey with her.

“I’m dedicating this day to my brother, Mr.JazziQ. Bro, you showed up for me when my father died, you carried me through the pain, I don’t even know how to thank you.

“A lot happened in a short space of time, you managed to be present and to be a brother. I don’t even know what to say buti wam. Thank you so much, bro. I’m crying writing this message because of how far we’ve come. God bless you. I love you buti wam.”
