Mbeumo must weigh money against stability

A move to Manchester United may be the most lucrative option on the table for Bryan Mbeumo—but it also carries the highest risk, writes Dylan Johnson.

The Brentford winger had a breakthrough season with 20 goals and eight assists and is ready for a step up. United have made a £55 million offer and reportedly propose £250,000 per week wages.

Writing for Soccermag, Johnson argues while the club sees Mbeumo as a low-risk solution to their attacking problems, the player faces uncertainty. United finished 15th and lack European football.

Past signings have struggled under pressure. Meanwhile, Arsenal, Newcastle, and Aston Villa offer clearer paths with European football and stable management. Johnson warns that Mbeumo’s next move must prioritize career growth over a big payday.
