Melusi has made a name for himself in the South African entertainment industry, landing notable roles in popular TV shows such as:

Tshisa: He played the character Bheki Shabalala from 2006 to 2009 and made a guest appearance in 2012.

The Wild: He starred as Isaac Tladi, a self-involved rogue superstar ranger, from 2011 to 2012.

Apart from his acting career, he has also made headlines for his personal life, including being hospitalised in 2016 due to poor health conditions and his highly publicised maintenance case with his baby mama, Palesa Molemela.

The show, which premieres on April 28, 2025, follows the story of twins Sabelo and Thembi, whose lives are forever changed when they find a winning lottery ticket.

Melusi joins a talented cast, including Nonsikelelo Mthiyane, Fanele Zulu, and Sthandwa Nzuza, among others. Amalanga Awafani promises to be a gripping and thought-provoking series that explores the consequences of sudden wealth and the choices that come with it.

The show will air on SABC1 from Mondays to Fridays at 18:30, taking over the time slot previously occupied by Skeem Saam. With its talented cast and compelling storyline,  Amalanga Awafani is sure to captivate audiences and leave them eagerly anticipating each new episode.
