Media personality and former Miss South Africa title holder Basetsana Kumalo has finally put an end to the recent confusion regarding her age.
The mother of three and wife to Romeo Kumalo has recently left many people scratching their heads in confusion. This comes after she issued an invitation to many of her close industry friends inviting them to attend her “45th birthday party”.
Taking to Instagram, renowned musician and DJ, Lamiez Holworthy documented the arrival of her invitation.
The invitation read: “I’m inviting you to my 45th birthday celebration. Let’s celebrate life, love, and beauty that only gets better with time.
“Dust off your finest and get ready to shine because timeless beauty is the theme … I couldn’t imagine walking this milestone without you, with love and ageless grace, Basetsana Kumalo.”
After reading the details of the celebration, Lamiez expressed confusion as she later sought confirmation on whether Basetsana didn’t celebrate her 50th birthday last year.
However, this past weekend the big day finally arrived, and the media mogul revealed that the conversation regarding her age was a debate she definitely wanted to happen.
In an interview with news and entertainment publication IOL, the former Miss Soweto highlighted that the invitation was all about celebrating the new Eucerin anti-ageing serum aimed at mature women to help them look visibly younger.
“We thought it’s proven scientifically that the serum turns back time by five years, let’s play on ‘Bassie turns 45’ and of course, it went viral. I guess it achieved what it was supposed to achieve,” she told the above-mentioned publication.
