Former Banyana Banyana captain, Janine van Wyk has excitedly announced that she and her Swedish partner, Julia Molin are pregnant.
The founder of JVW Football Club who remains the highest-capped player in Africa together with Julia, a fellow footballer, jointly took to their Instagram pages to share the news.
In their candid post, they captioned: “Our pack is growing with a tiny human coming in 2025.” The couple shared two snaps where they were holding a printed sonogram, with their two dogs on beside them.

Julia and Janine played for several clubs together including Glasgow City and JWV FC. After a colourful soccer career, Janine announced retirement in 2023. After retiring, she was appointed as the assistant coach of JWV FC in the Hollywoodbets Super League.
The couple is believed to have started their love story in 2021 when Janine signed with Glasgow City, where Julia Molin was also playing. Then in 2023, Julia joined JWV FC which strengthened both their personal and professional lives. The pair then launched their relationship on Instagram a year later, where they shared their moments as a couple with friends and fans.
The couple also shared snippets of their holidays during the festive season in Sweden.
