The KZN community and South Africa at large have found themselves shocked by the horrific murder of Ntobeko Cele at the hands of her partner, Sibusiso Lawrence Ntaka.

Gender-based violence (GBV) is an ongoing issue in South Africa as it has become notorious for having some of the highest levels of GBV cases. The root cause of this endemic is a complex one and includes cultural, economic, and social factors.

Community members in Durban have found themselves in disbelief at the case of couple Sibusiso Lawrence and Ntobeko Cele, which has reportedly resulted in the murder of Ntobeko at the hands of her partner. The news has gone viral after Sbusiso took to his Facebook to confess to the alleged murder, as he cited a few concerning reasons for his actions.

According to Sbusiso, his actions were triggered by Ntobeko’s continuous betrayal, with the final straw being Ntobeko sabotaging his relationship with his new partner, and continuing to break things off with him, leaving him alone with no one.

In the video, the teacher then shows the horrific scene of Ntobeko’s murder, revealing her blood-filled lifeless body for all to see, and learn from her mistakes.

The case has amplified calls to find solutions to combat the prevalence of GBV in the country, as users express shock and horror over the chilling details and media of this case. Citizens have identified the need to tackle this issue from the root, which they have identified as the lack of raising young boys with the same standard as girls.

That Sibusiso Lawrence incident set us back 10 years as the male species! What’s worse is the guys who are defending him! Nothing, and i mean nothing will ever justify taking a womens life as man! She may cheat, lie about the paternity of a child, and it’ll hurt, but just leave.

This Sibusiso Lawrence guy is the epitome of weak men. Zero emotional control. The worst part is that there’s a growing culture of men who think this kind of behavior is ‘justifiable’ under the guise of hurt or rejection.
