After dividing the nation with the moral dilemma of buying concert tickets, the controversial Chris Brown concert appears to be struggling with ticket sales, as more fans resell theirs.

The announcement of an upcoming Chris Brown concert set to take place in Johannesburg this December, caused chaos on the streets of social media, as the support of the popular American came with backlash from some South Africans.

Chris’ public history of violence against women paired with Mzansi’s rampant GBV statistics were a cause for concern for citizens, who questioned the government and entertainment industry’s nonchalant approach to this matter.

Their cries appeared to fall on deaf ears, as the concert sold out in record time, causing even more chaos and controversy.

Recently, internet users have noted the exponential rise of ticket resellers, which has caused genuine curiosity from those who opposed the concert in the first place. According to these users, rigging the ticket sale numbers was a ploy by the event’s marketing team to create more demand for the tickets.

This comes after radio station YFM revealed that they were providing fans with discounted ticket prices retailing at R200 each, with the initial price going R500 per ticket. Users then began to inquire about the availability of so many tickets, after being told that the shows were sold out.

But I thought the Chris Brown tickets were sold out!?!?

Die-hard Chris Brown fans came to the singer’s defence and cleared the air, stating that the tickets that were for sale were for the second show that was announced to accommodate those who did not secure tickets for the first sold-out show.
