Media personality Thulasizwe Siphiwe Dambuza, famously known as Lasizwe recently announced none other than Economic Freedom Fighter’s CIC Julius Malema as a guest on his YouTube show, ‘Awkward Dates.’

Throughout the series, many mzansi celebrities have been put on the spot by the YouTuber and his older brother, Lungile. The concept is similar to that of British comedian and presenter Amelia Beth Dimoldenberg’s ‘Chicken Shop Dates’, but with an interesting twist.

According to news publication, IOL, controversial blogger Musa Khawula revealed that close friends of the YouTuber shared that he would be going on a date with the political leader known for his rather interesting outbursts on public platforms.

Despite not being the first person to share this exciting news, Lasizwe didn’t shy away from the fact that the rumours were true, adding, “The rumours are true… Julius Malema is coming to Awkward Dates! Sad I couldn’t announce myself but ke we here now! What should I ask my Juju on our date?”

This announcement caused many people to be excited as many wondered how he managed to get Julius Malema on his channel given that he presents a more serious demeanour in the public eye.

Even though the first episode was released in August, Lasizwe managed to gain himself at the South African TV and Film Awards (SAFTA) under the Best Online Content category which was won by the popular animation series “The Adventures of Noko Mashaba – Struggles of SA Youth” on Youtube and Facebook.
