Sello Maake kaNcube headed for divorce number 3: ‘Home affairs needs to intervene now’

Outside of his illustrious career, veteran actor Sello Maake kaNcube’s love life has often been in the spotlight, with his ability to move on from one relationship and marriage to the next. Mere weeks after celebrating their fourth anniversary, Sello has revealed that he and his wife, Pearl Maake kaNcube are headed for divorce.

The news came as a complete shock to the South African public as Sello and Pearl had garnered a reputation as one of mzansi’s favourite couples. They did not hold back when it came to publicly showing affection and appreciation to each other, so we thought, proving that all that glitters really isn’t gold. The thespian has revealed shocking details about the truth behind the facade they called a happy marriage.

Things ended in tears as Sello divulged TshisaLive about the specifics of his and Pearl’s marriage, revealing that he has served Pearl with a protection order, which she did not take well. “She took the protection order, read it and threw it on the floor saying she is not going to sign it. Then told me she will ‘show me a ghost,” Sello explained to the publication.

Despite multiple public appearances and celebrating their fourth wedding anniversary last month, Sello also revealed that they have been living separately since last year. He points to Pearl as the source of the conflict in his marriage, revealing that Pearl has controlled everything the public has seen on social media. She allegedly falsely presents Sello as a happy man, while he has been miserable since the beginning of the marriage.

“I have never been a problem in my marriage. My wife has been the problem. The social media was managed by her. Everything that was on social media, every caption that was written, was written by her. I think I have a few that I suggested … but all of them, 99.9% were written by her. She was managing the social media and I was presented as someone who was happily married when actually I lived a life of hell.”

Pearl has stated that although she will not contest the divorce, she would like to keep the house in Blue Valley, the two cars the couple owns and any financial gain from October 2021.

“I am married to this man with accrual, so everything he owns is mine and his. We’ve got two cars, a Porsche and a Mercedes. When we went to buy the car, I agreed to put it in his name because he’s my husband. If anything was to end, he either keeps the Porche or the Mercedes,” Pearl tells TshisaLive.

Upon hearing the news, mzansi has encouraged the Department of Home Affairs to intervene as Sello will now be going through his third divorce. Internet users took a jab at the situation, suggesting that Sello should not be allowed to get married anymore as he has exhausted all his chances.
