Was Uncle Waffles’ dress code appropriate for meeting Prince William?

International DJ Uncle Waffles recently received backlash from online users for not dressing appropriately when she met William, Prince of Wales at the 2024 Earthshot Prize Awards.

Despite becoming an internet sensation for her cool dance moves and DJ sets, it seems that she failed to impress mzansi users after they questioned whether or not it was appropriate for her to dress the way she had on the green carpet.

Uncle Waffles was one of the performers among other global acts where she wore a sexy crocodile-print bra piece showing her cleavage with jeans that had unique embellishments on the sides.

Although she was approved, the DJ and dancing aren’t the only things she is good at, as her unique sense of fashion has never gotten her into this much trouble.

The Earthshot Prize Awards, founded by Prince William, aims to support businesses that address climate change and environmental issues and attracts a high-profile audience of investors and dignitaries. Each year, five winners are selected from all over the world and granted up to 1 million pounds (R23,8 million) to continue their work.

Many X (formerly known as Twitter) users had this to say about her outfit:

She could have worn something more classy, there’s a place and time for every outfit ??‍♂️

Am disappointed in my Queen’s look because am rooting for her, but I believe she will make me proud next time.??
