Tributes pour in for veteran producer Quincy Jones

The entertainment industry mourns the death of one of the most influential figures in music. US record producer and songwriter, Quincy Jones passed away at 91.

On Sunday night, the Jones family released a statement confirming that the renowned musician died peacefully in his Bel-Air home.

The statement read, “Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones’ passing. And although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him.”

According to news publication, BBC, Quincy was widely known for his contributions to many legendary artists’ lives where he worked including Michael Jackson in his Thriller album, Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles and many others.

Musical publication, Rolling Stone highlights the impressive career of the artist that lasted seven decades. Throughout his journey, he excelled as a trumpet player, composer, arranger, producer, conductor, and scorer, adding that, his diverse body of work spanned various genres, including big band jazz, bebop, gospel, blues, soul, funk, quiet storm R&B, disco, rock, and rap.

As per reports by Variety, apart from his musical attributions, he has executive produced many hit shows such as the 90s sitcom, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and the 2022 reboot Bel-Air. Quincy also produced the comedy series, In the House and MadTV, just to name a few.

Since the news of his passing broke, tributes have been pouring in honour of his great contribution.
