Media personality and actress Minnie Dlamini recently hosted the 30th South African Music Awards, where she showcased various looks throughout the event made by local fashion designers.

After being announced as this year’s host, Minnie not only shined on the red carpet but shocked people with her ever-so-amazing outfit changes.

One of her outfits was a South African flag dress ensemble, similar to a dress worn by American rapper Doja Cat at the Global Citizen Festival earlier this year.

Although the rapper was not born in South Africa, she has Zulu roots through her famous father, Dumisani Dlamini, and has represented her culture.

Taking to Instagram to showcase her opening act look she captioned, “Proudly South African, my opening look was inspired by DojaCat and my hair was inspired by the iconic #BoomShaka who ruled the 90s with this hairstyle and music @thembiseete_ and Lebo Mathosa.”

In honour of the, ‘PROUDLY SOUTH AFRICAN’ theme, Minnie was dressed by local fashion designer Asanfa Madyibi.

Boom Shaka member and actress Thembi Seete wrote: “Ndlovukazi, Congratulations on the job; well done! You looked amazing, and we are proud of you. Well done, Queen!”

Another user said: “I loved the dress. It was perfect for the awards and girl you rocked it! Congratulations for hosting this year’s SAMA awards.”

One Instagram user added, “No DNA just RSA, you did an incredible job on Saturday.”
