The reality show featuring the Bala brothers has taken social media by storm, trending each week as viewers engage in discussions about the family dynamics and scandals.

As the series delves into their controversial family scandals and the challenges they face, and each episode offers a glimpse into their lives, prompting viewers to reflect on their own family relationships and conflicts.

In response to the negativity, Zwai Bala defended himself in a recent interview with Drum and addressed the mixed reactions to his portrayal on the show stating, “It is not about being the eldest and wanting to tell people what to do or to control them in any way. I am definitely not a bully[..] I feel I am misunderstood a lot of the time by the public and the siblings just do not want to understand. I am not on some power trip, but I have apologised when I have seen that what I was trying to communicate was not received the way I intended.”

Following the recent backlash on X, where viewers expressed their disdain for Zwai’s behaviour, he felt compelled to clarify his intentions. Many users labelled him vile due to his assertive nature.

One post stated:

Zwai from where im watching the show in my sitting room. I feel like you’re trying too hard to father your grown up siblings. #TheBalaFamily pic.twitter.com/blZiy33lth

Another user said:

Y’all can never convince me Zwai and Pinkie have best intentions. Their tactics are so vile. They can rehash things of decades ago but someone else they tell “we have moved on”. Toxic beings those two #TheBalaFamily
