Superfan Mama Joy, known for her unwavering support of South African sports, took to social media to share her thoughts on the viral news of Springbok captain Siya Kolisi and his wife Rachel announcing their divorce.

The couple’s joint statement on Tuesday night left Mzansi divided. While some suggested President Cyril Ramaphosa call a “family meeting,” others were either in disbelief or already planning to slide into the DMs of both Siya and Rachel.

Mama Joy, real name Joy Chauke, added her voice to the mix, even tagging the Rugby World Cup champion in her post. She tweeted: “You invited me when you launched your @KolisiFdn in Paris.

“The video you played about your lives – I didn’t see any sign of divorce. During the RWC final, you fetched your family to celebrate with them on the pitch @SiyaKolisi. I’m shocked.”

The reaction to Mama Joy’s heartfelt message, however, was less than sympathetic.
One user, @odedanilo, bluntly remarked: “Not everything is about you.”

@Bra_Sporo chimed in: “Kanti, how old are you? Tagging people during this difficult time?”

Meanwhile, @BabySmeg didn’t hold back: “South Africans and the chief mourner mentality. Mind your own business, please.”

Finally, @vbthoughts001 commented: “What kind of tweet is this? I expected a more mature, supportive message… Instead, you seem to be looking for gossip. I’m disappointed.”

What kind of tweet is this?! I would have expected a more matured, sound, positive message…instead, you seem to want to solicit gossip,, Am disappointed

The public wasn’t exactly ready to join Mama Joy in her expression of shock, with many urging her to sit this one out.
