Lloyiso exposes festival organisers for unprofessionalism

2015 Idols SA contestant Loyiso Gijana, affectionately known by his stage name Lloyiso, revealed great frustration during his performance at a popular music festival over the weekend.

The 25-year-old was one of several big names to grace the stage at the Lemo Festival, which took place in Bloemfontein, Free State. However, due to the unprofessionalism of the event organisers, things quickly turned sour between the artist and those working behind the scenes to make the event happen.

According to reports by the news and entertainment publications, Daily Sun, those in attendance could notice that something was wrong on stage, however, many artists tried the best they could to still provide a decent performance.

It was not until Lloyiso had his turn that the Speak hitmaker spoke his mind and told fans exactly what was happening.

In a video making its rounds on the internet, he expressed his frustration, highlighting how they arrived early but that he and his team received bad treatment from the event’s organizers.

“I just want to be honest because I’m tired of people not respecting artists.”

“We work so hard to come to the stage to prepare this set for you and you treat us like sh*t. You don’t give us our room to sit when we come here. You tell us we are performing at 11 but we come and perform at 12. Shout out to you Lemo Fest and f**k you,” he said in the video.

Taking to Instagram, Lemo Fest shared a statement of their own regarding the incident.

“We’re thrilled to announce that the on-stage incident involving Lloyiso at Lemo Fest 2024 Lovers & Friends Concert has been amicably resolved.”

It was revealed that Lloyiso later apologised to patrons, organisers, and fellow performers and later joined Freddie Kenney and Nathi on stage.

Earlier this month, the singer kicked off October celebrating the fact that he went 5X platinum.

Following Lemo Fest’s statement, some felt that the organisers still needed to take responsibility for their actions while others felt that Lloyiso didn’t have to react the way he did.

“Still, he was not supposed to react like that. If you are not happy about something you engage the owner of that place,” wrote one user.
