AKA look-alike spotted performing his songs in the club

The sudden and unexpected death of rap legend AKA, born Kiernan Forbes, is something that still lives in the hearts and minds of many South Africans, whether fans of the controversial star or not. While many are still adjusting to a life without the Don’t forget to Pray rapper, a video has been making rounds showing an unidentified individual who bears a resounding resemblance to him as he performs some of the late artist’s songs.

The look-alike, who has not been identified yet can be seen fully immersed in his performance of AKA’s hit song All Eyes on Me where he was alongside Burna Boy, Da Les and Jr. Anyone who is none the wiser would believe that the man performing is indeed AKA, as his confidence and demeanour indicates he might believe that he actually is.

Unsurprisingly, the trending video has garnered a negative response from netizens, as they have expressed irregularity in the entire situation. Some users are of the opinion that the impersonator shows no respect towards Supermega’s legacy, aka the ‘Megacy’, considering the unfortunate passing of the rapper.

The video has also sparked a conversation regarding the appropriateness of impersonating a deceased artist, posing the question of whether it is one of those practices adopted from a global culture. Users highlighted the importance of honouring their legacies and not misinterpreting people who can no longer represent themselves.

Contrarily, some of Supermega’s fans have expressed that they see nothing wrong with the situation, and that seeing the impersonator was healing for them in a sense.
